CALLE 13 SORPRENDE A TODOS!

Miami, FL. November 29, 2005 (Source: Sony BMG, &
L.O.T.O) – Ha tomado a todos por sorpresa la demanda del publico
solicitando en las tiendas el lanzamiento del disco de CALLE 13. El
lanzamiento oficial ha sido el 29 de noviembre, pero la demanda ha sido
a tal magnitud desde hace más de un mes, que las tiendas no hallaban
como complacer y contener a la fanaticada de estos artistas.
Pocas veces sucede esto con artistas comenzando su
carrera, pero estos chicos han probado ser la excepción a la
regla. La aceptación del publico, el éxito de “SE
VALE TO-TO” y ahora su nuevo sencillo en Puerto Rico, “ATREVETE”,
complementado con sus enérgicas actuaciones, han hecho que el
publico se vuelque a las tiendas a solicitarlo.
CALLE 13 es como un bofetón en la cara, una
caricia de verdades cotidianas, música urbana, nacida y criada
en las urbanizaciones de clase media en el área metropolitana
de la isla de Puerto Rico, en directo desde El Conquistador, Trujillo
Alto.
Valiéndose de la fusión de rap, reggaeton,
música afro antillana y cualquier otra influencia que aflore
de sus gustos, los hermanos Rene, conocido como “Residente”
(voz y lírica), Eduardo, “Visitante” (composición
musical y programaciones electrónicas) e Ileana – “PG
13” (coros); rompen las cadenas del estereotipo urbano, creando
un sonido autentico que los coloca al frente de la cadena evolutiva
de un genero musical que nació para quedarse.
CALLE 13 hace uso de la metáfora y el humor
negro parodiando los estereotipos sexistas y de clase social, con sus
líricas irreverentes; explorando senderos musicales aparentemente
contradictorios, pero auténticos; donde convergen las fusiones
del rock, música afro antillana, cumbia y cualquier otra inquietud
musical. Todo interpretado con la pasión que les nace de las
entrañas por sus raíces caribeñas.
Como todos los géneros musicales que evolucionan
por sus integrantes, CALLE 13 ha presentado la propuesta fresca, que
evidentemente esta causando furor.

CALLE 13 fans demand a release! The original release date was scheduled
for November 29th, but demand for the group’s debut album has
been so great that it has forced retailinto total frenzy in efforts
to contain demanding fans.
Few if ever, does this happen especially with new
artists, yet CALLE 13 may be considered the exception to the rule. The
public is raving about them; the success of their first single, “SE
VALE TO TO” and now their second single in Puerto Rico, “ATREVETE”,
complemented by their energetic and exuberant performances, has sent
the public to the streets demanding the product.
CALLE 13 is a slap across the face for the Reggaeton
genre defying all stereotypical attributes associated with the genre.

Basing their style by fusing rap, reggaeton, afro
Antillean music with many other influences that stem from their extensive
taste, brothers, Rene a.k.a. “Residente” / RESIDENT (vocalist/lyricist)
and Eduardo a.k.a. “Visitante” / VISITOR (producer and engineer)
along with sister Ileana a.k.a. “PG 13” (chorus), break
all stereotypes, creating an authentic sound that places them on the
forefront of the evolutionary development of a musical genre that was
born to stay.
CALLE 13 is not only a group of exceptional
and unique artists; they are trendsetters that create music for all
types of audiences. They will surpass most of the artists in the genre
