Well known in the Miami reggaeton scene, 90 Millas make
a name for themselves in their debut "La Isla Del Caiman". If
you most know, the name 90 millas (90 miles) is a reference to the distance
between Cuba and the U.S. coast. The trio consist of Vitty Man, Kuban
and El Chulo. Pure Miami, their sound comes across with the kind of vocal
melodies that can spark a room full women into spontaneous combustion.
"Chulo de la Calle" takes the mid tempo approach to rhyming,
over a trance inducing beat that owes its roots to the cuban style of
babaloo, this brings to the song a level of Latin sensuousness that is
often lacking in faster paced reggaeton songs. "No Te Han Dicho"
will make bodies shake, built around a dembow beat, the songs comes out
as a pure cry of undeluted sexual energy that finds its release in a killer
chourus that once again cries for the dancefloor. Surprising for a debut,
this record is strong and more importantlly, is very original. By foucusing
on the more sensual side of reggaeton, 90 Millas open up themselves up
to a new musical landscape, bringing with them a unique style that's sensual
without being soft.
